Dr. Laura Windsor Awarded the
National 2011 Young Optometrist of the Year
Dr. Laura Windsor was awarded by the American Optometric Association as the 2011 National Young Optometrist of the Year. She was presented the award at the AOA National Convention in June 2011 in Salt Lake City, Utah. This award is presented annually to a doctor of optometry who has been in practice less than 10 years and has achievements in their area of optometric practice, involvement with the state association and service to the public.
Dr. Windsor's work in low vision rehabilitation was a major contributor to her winning this award. Dr. Laura has presented over 100 lectures to patients and colleagues on different low vision conditions and low vision rehabilitation. She has published numerous articles and contributed to books on low vision and technology in the optometric practice.
